  1. too bad that this video is already 5 years old now, so likes of Philips Hue essential line did not get mention here, since those came out only late last year.
I have 3 of those old 806 lumen hue bulbs from 2018 starter kit whit no sigh of issues, but out of curiocity got myself also two 1600 lumen ones last year.
only issue with those 1600 lumen bulbs are that my Philips 50pus6754/12 tv has full on power reboot if i try to change the placement or brightness of those 1600 lumen bulbs in the tv menus.
it works perfectly fine with the old 806 lumen 2018 bulb which is no surprise seeing how the tv is from 2020, but the 2025’s Hue Essential 806 bulb seem to work on the tv just fine too.

the biggest difference between the 2018 hue starter 806’s and the Hue essential starter kit 3 806’s bulbs, are mainly on the how dim they can go.
the old 806 and the new 1600 lumen bulbs can basically be almost off, while the essential bulb is not bright on it’s dimmest setting, but noticeably brighter than either of the older “premium models”

in terms of colors or even the responsiveness to the Ambilight+Hue (Hue sync for pre2023 Philips tv’s) there was no difference between those bulbs.

  2. I decided to upgrade most things to LIFX because it’s WIFI and feels high quality and use their Light switch to control the bulbs, and Govee because of customizability and integration with their other products. I still have some Tuya lights, but I may replace them with one of these brands I mentioned
